SPS Italia, 38,713 attendees at trade fair

25 May 2023

Excellent results for the smart production solutions trade fair in Parma on 23-25 May.

More than 800 exhibitors, 38,713 visitors, over 130 talks, lectures, and round-table discussions. These are the vital statistics from the latest SPS Italia, the go-to annual trade fair of the industrial automation sector. The highly topical themes addressed were sustainability, the role of humans in technological development, and the relationship between artificial intelligence and ethic, which were discussed by eminent experts such as, to name but a few, Federico Faggin, Bruno Siciliano and Marco Bentivogli. The event also saw the launch of a Position paper and a Skills Manifesto containing tips and innovative ideas for SMEs and new generations.

Donald Wich, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Italia, said: “SPS Italia saw a significant increase in visitor numbers with respect to 2022. During the days of the fair, the exhibition halls and conference rooms were alive with excitement and a sense of eager anticipation, beginning with the packed plenary session that was attended by several prestigious guests. We are especially pleased to have received positive feedback from our exhibitors and partners whose interests we continuously serve through the organization of this important trade show, of major benefit to the entire industry.”

Andrea Bianchi, President of ANIE Automazione, said: “SPS Italia has given ulterior proof of its position as the pre-eminent trade fair for this sector, being the place where innovation is showcased and future trends are anticipated. Once again, this year has turned out to be positive for Anie Automazione. We presented a Digital Manifesto that underscores how Anie Automazione is, at heart, an association of digitally-focused companies. In the latest addition to the technology papers produced by our working groups, we published a White Paper on the use of post-interconnection data. The trade fair provided the occasion for launching a major joint project with the OPC Foundation, which we shall continue to pursue over the coming months, during which time we shall also be busy organizing two important events, the Italian Machine Vision Forum and the new Digital Industry Forum, once again with Messe Frankfurt Italia as our trusted partner."

SPS Italia looks forward to seeing you at the next fair, to be held in Parma on 28-30 May 2024.
